DALLAS CHAPTER MEETING - EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Meeting Date: 11/21/2003
Emergency preparedness encompasses all sorts of misfortunes and in 2003 alone employers have faced wildfires in California, hurricane Isabel and power outages in the northeast. Lynn Lavender, a Safety Consultant and an OSHA Outreach Trainer, will examine emergency preparedness programs and offer a case study of one-such program utilized by a Fort Worth nonsubscriber.
Just months before the March 2000 tornado ravaged downtown Fort Worth, Ms. Lavender completed an extensive revision of the nonsubscriber’s emergency preparedness program that not only addressed the safety of company personnel but also the public it served. Ms. Lavender will compare and contrast the components of this plan as she discusses ways to develop and implement an emergency preparedness plan for any business. She will also offer new information that should be considered in light of the September 11th attacks and the installation of the Office of Homeland Security.
