Meeting Date: 06/18/2009
The 81st Legislature will adjourn on Monday, June 1, 2009 and Texas employers are again facing a multitude of new laws slated to take affect this fall. During the 2009 session, lawmakers filed nearly 8,000 bills including legislation aimed squarely at Texas nonsubscribers, more than 100 that relate to workers’ compensation and legislative provisions that will require additional studies of Texas nonsubscribers during the 2009/2010 interim.
Join Steve Bent, Executive Director and Director of Government Affairs for the Texas Association of Responsible Nonsubscribers for TXANS bi-annual legislative review featuring a recap of the 81st regular session. Mr. Bent will discuss pertinent nonsubscriber, insurance, workers’ compensation and other general employer-related legislation to help employers prepare for the new laws and regulations that will take effect in 2009.
