TXANS Political Action Committee
Early in TXANS history it became obvious that interests that
oppose the freedom to offer benefits as a Texas nonsubscriber
were aggressively supporting candidates for public office.
To ensure nonsubscribers also played in role in supporting
candidates for public office TXANS established the Texas
Association of Responsible Nonsubscriber’s Political
Action Committee or TXANS PAC.
TXANS PAC supports TXANS’ effort
to protect and maintain responsible options for Texas nonsubscribers.
Contributors to TXANS PAC traditionally include nonsubscribing
employers, nonsubscriber industry professionals and individuals at subscribing businesses that support TXANS’ effort to
protect responsible injury benefit options for Texas businesses.
TXANS
PAC is governed by Texas law, which stipulates that political
action committee cannot accept corporate contributions.
Federal law stipulates that contributions made to a political
action committee like TXANS PAC cannot be deducted on federal
income tax returns.

Corporations wishing to lend support to TXANS
legislative effort but not candidate contributions can contribute to
TXANS’ general fund, which offsets some of the administrative costs associated
with TXANS’ campaign efforts.
